MAY- DRIVE IN LIEU - ICE CREAM RUN
Spring is finally in the air! (fingers-crossed!)
We hope you all had a good winter and are eager to get your cars out on the road for our first VSCCC Drive of 2026! These drives are in lieu of our monthly member meetings and this first drive will be a simple scenic run to Cochrane for ice cream!
When: May 13, 2026
Where: North Drive - meet at Crowfoot Rona - 90 Crowfoot Way NW
Meet up time: 6:45pm
Depart time: 7:00pm sharp

Route:
- Leave the Rona parking lot exiting left onto Crowfoot Way NW
- Right onto Crowfoot Way (road turns right)
- Left onto Crowfoot Way (road turns left)
- Right onto Crowfoot Way NW
- Left onto Crowfoot Rise NW
- Merge onto AB-1 Crowchild Trail North
- Turn right onto 12 Mile Coulee Rd NW
- Head north for approx. 7.4 km and the road will turn left and become Church Ranches Blvd. This is nice windy road
- Turn right onto Bearspaw Rd (Range Rd 30) heading north
- Turn left onto Big Hill Springs Rd (Hwy 567)
- Turn left onto Lochend Rd (Hwy 766)
- Turn right onto (Township Rd 264A) - this is a windy road
- Turn right onto first cross street Township Rd 262
- Turn left onto Ridge Rd 40/Range Rd 40
- Turn left onto Range Rd 40A
- Quick right onto Bow Valley Trail AB -1A West
- Turn left at the bottom of hill onto Centre Ave
- Right onto 1St West
- Mackay's Ice Cream is about 2.5 blocks up on your right hand side. There is a parking lot across the street on your left.
Ice cream break!
- This is the end of the tour. Everyone can enjoy the famous Mackay's Ice Cream.
Return:
- Head back onto 1St West as we came in
- Take a left onto Centre Ave
- Take a right onto the 1A highway and this will take you all the way back to Calgary.
- Or take your preferred route home
Remember, is it a leisurely cruise. Take your time, drive safe! As traffic conditions vary, we may get separated as a group, but that is okay.
